A half-time (20h/week) lab manager position is available in Laboratory
of Neuroinformatics at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology.
Responsibilities: The lab manager’s duties will be primarily
administrative and technical support for lab personnel. This includes:
ordering equipment, tracking supplies, writing reports, correspondence
with collaborators, organizing databases and data storage, simple
website development and maintenance, organizing conferences and
workshops, seminars and travel, etc. The lab manager will be involved in
all aspects of lab life including participation in lab meetings.
Traditionally this position has been of interest for MSc students on the
Requirements: We seek an organized, self-motivated, independent, and
reliable individual with good people skills who can also work as part of
a team. Strong organizational skills and good communication in English
(both oral and written) are essential. A bachelor’s degree in cognitive
science, biology, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, physics,
math, or psychology and experience implementing simple websites are a plus.
Laboratory of Neuroinformatics is involved in the development of methods
of data analysis and their application (electrophysiology, behavior,
imaging), modeling of neural systems and behavior, neuroinformatics
infrastructure, and electrophysiological experiments. The successful
candidate will have an opportunity to take an active role in scientific
research but it is not required.
